In the heart of Rochefort in the Belgian Ardennes you will find this hidden gem, which is the result of a beautiful history of friendship. It is Renaud and Amélie, two long time friends, who are at the origin of this magnificent villa where each of the rooms is a testimony of their love and passion. It's simple: from your first steps in the house, you will feel a special feeling, that of being amazed by the originality and beauty of the fittings while falling under the charm of the sympathy of your newly met hosts. You will feel directly at home and want to be able to enjoy each of these rooms. Like its hosts, the villa is the perfect blend of authenticity, conviviality and harmony. Each element of decoration has been found in antique fairs and implemented by Amélie, which makes the villa a unique work of art.
Renaud and Amélie tell us the history of the villa, an old small manor surrounded by a walled garden. This large house was occupied for a long time by the Georges family and was also used as a notary's office. Among the other houses on the banks of the Ravel in Rochefort, this one stands out from the rest. Dating from 1896, it has been perfectly preserved, with its high ceilings and their mouldings, the original parquet flooring and the chequered entrance hall floor. Several rooms follow one another, displaying authenticity mixed with a surprisingly offbeat decoration: wallpaper with roses, second-hand objects and details, a chandelier made of dried flowers, a high-tech black kitchen,... The first floor has 4 beautiful and large double bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Once again, the visit continues to amaze us. Although different, each room is pretty and well thought out.
This villa is also in a way the realization of the whole family. A father with his handyman hands, a mother with her professional "bargain hunt” talents, in short, everyone has put their hand to it. Since its opening, the house has been enjoying a success and has raised the interest of many decoration magazines. We haven't told you everything yet, but a wine cellar will also be at your disposal, in the form of a "honesty bar". In addition to their generosity, Renaud and Amélie are proud of their region and promote young local concepts through their additional services. For example, they make available the beauty products of the "Bobone" brand as well as the brunch basket "Have a nice day" at 20 euro/person.
We had the chance to meet the two personalities behind this project: Amélie and Renaud, two long-time friends. Complementary, one is an interior decorator and the other is an accountant, they brought this house back to life with a wave of their magic wand. Amélie is a visionary and has a talent for assembling objects and colours. As for Renaud, he loves welcoming people and chatting. They are both natives of the region and will be good advice on what to do in the surrounding area.
